excuse me for the lack of updates- but i'm busy and i don't feel like writing what all has happened. so whatever. heh. so out of pure boredome: here's to USAG Nationals coming up in one month, and Melbourne World Championships in a couple months:

Carly Patterson- USA
why? kicked snotty Khorkina's butt and was the first US woman to win the All Around in a fully attended olympics. Not to mention the "Patterson" dismount off the balance beam *arabian double front :)*

Nadia Comaneci- Romania
First Perfect 10 in gymnastics history. I think she got seven or something more 10s during the 76 olympics.

Anna Pavlova- Russia
They say she's the heir to Russia's gymnastics throne. After the Athens and 05 Euros dissapointments, she really deserves a gold @ the 05 Worlds.

Catalina Ponor- Romania
Queen of the Beam. She won three golds in Athens and is absolutely "perfection in motion" on the balance beam. I adored her floor exercise during Athens, now not so much.

Shannon Miller- USA
alright, so the hair scrunchy got real old real fast, but she launched the US team to Olympic gold in 1996 and still remains the most decorated gymnast in USAG history

Elena Gomez- Spain
She's a floor exercise pro. World bronze medalist and probably the best dancer on floor out of any gymnast in the past quad. not to mention Elena is one of my favorite names.

Andreea Raducan- Romania
Won the All Around in Sydney 2000, but was stripped of her gold medal because she took a cold pill that had illegal substances. She had one of the best Romanian floor routines by far. What a shame.

Olga Korbut- Former USSR
She put the spunk back in gymnastics for a while. She was a Soviet powerhouse, but had a personality unlike so many Soviet gymnasts

Courtney McCool- USA
She's a little powerhouse, but an injury prevented her from performing to her full potential in Athens. Burst onto the senior international scene the very year of the Olympics. Amazing technique and beautiful line.

Emilie Leppenec- France
Won France's first ever gymnastics medal *gold on uneven bars* with a jam packed routine- hop full + def; double double dismount- pretty good on floor too

Allana Slater- Australia
Great performer on floor- awesome on beam too-she was the first gymnast to spot the vaulting table being too low during the All Around competition in Sydney. Placed 10 in Athens.

Dominique Moceanu- USA
Okay who wouldn't like her? Helped the USA grab it's first team gold in Atlanta 1996- she's pretty unforgetable and i believe she was the youngest to be on the Olympic team

Lilia Podkopayeva- Ukraine
Quietly won the 1996 Olympic All Around- first woman to win the All Around from a team who didn't win a medal in the team final- very focused on the dance elements, which made her floor exercise and balance beam a treat to watch.

Courtney Kupets- USA
Anyone who can come back from shredding their Achilles Tendon and compete in the Olympic games is just amazing. She won bronze on Uneven Bars *her specialty, for obvious reasons- she soars above the bars on her release skills* and is former Co National Champion with Carly Patterson

Daniela Sofronie- Romania
She's a calm competitor, but still has the big skills. She's one of Romania's last hopes for an All Around medal at the 05 World Championships- unfortunetly she's plagued with injuries and nearly retired two weeks ago.

Kate Richardson- Canada
I know I know- Canada. but she's great on floor and competed in Sydney and Athens and for UCLA

Elena Zamolodchikova- Russia
Her name's a mouthful and she's full of power- she won two golds in Sydney *vault, floor exercise* after falling short of a medal in the All Around- been in 2 Olympic games and she's till competing.

Chellsie Memmel- USA
She was the underdog at the 03 World Championships, but due to injuries she became more than an alternate. She led the team to the USA's first gold medal and got the gold *with Hollie Visa, USA* on uneven bars. She fell short of her Olympic dream but is still competiting. Very impressive gymnast. It's always one skill after another

thats all for now. :) catcha later
